Our Journey
1999
Alderwood Resort Management is born with the vision of helping resorts with a very personalized approach to finding specific solutions to specific problems with the focus on increasing top line revenue no matter the market.
2000 - 2010
Alderwood Resort Management celebrates it's first milestone with the onboarding and successful maintenance of three separate Resort partners. Lagonita Lodge, North Bay, and the Inn At Silvercreek.
2011
Alderwood continues to grow rapidly and celebrates the onboarding of three new resort partners (Fairways At Pole Creek, Pines At Meadow Ridge, and Twin Rivers) doubling the amount of resorts under management in a single year.
2013 - 2014
Alderwood continues to grow it's online and phone Rentals and Sales business tapping into new revenue streams for resort partners while signing four new resort partners. Outer Banks, Pinecliff Village, Tahoe Summit, and High Sierra.
2015 - 2016
Alderwood merges with GetAways and growth explodes with the addition of seven new resorts. Dunes South, Fraser Crossing, Windjammer, Holiday Beach, Royal Holiday, Destin Holiday, and Soundside all are now jointly managed.
2017 - 2018
Seven new resort partners are added and managed successfully. Ocean Villas, Club Destin, Park Regency, Sedona Pines, Snow Lake Lodge, Village By The Gulf, and Highlands Resort At Verde Ridge.
2019 - 2022
Growth continues to expand as six new resorts are added bringing the total number of managed resorts to 31. Chautauqua Lodge, Los Cabos, Tahoe Beach and Ski, Sweetwater Lift Lodge, Oak Ridge, and Great Rock.
TODAY
Alderwood and GetAways remain committed to bringing our vision of growth into the future with continued focus on strategic partnerships that build value for our resort partners and a renewed focus on online branding, marketing, and booking capabilities. We continue to look for opportunities to build value for our partners while continuing to adapt to new technologies that increase revenue for our partners.
Background
Alderwood Resort Management was founded in 1998 by Thomas A. Johnson with the purpose of bridging hospitality style management practices with vacation ownership association resorts managements services. Since its inception, Alderwood’s management practices are transparent and straightforward. Alderwood recently partnered with GetAways Resort Management to provide a broader, stronger, and more compelling palate of services as a leader in the resort hospitality industry.
Together, our common values, infrastructure and teams manage 33 resorts throughout Canada, the United States, in addition to four timeshare club owner associations domiciled in Canada, the Bahamas, Nevada and Colorado. We are trusted with managing the vacation property interests of almost 90,000 plus owners and assuring the quality of each member’s guest experience.
Our success has developed slowly, carefully and locally in every circumstance by focusing on the needs of each resort by partnering with each HOA Board on behalf of their members. Tom Johnson is the President of both Alderwood and GetAways, and personally cares for each Resort’s HOA Board relationship and assures the delivery of exceptional, professional and customized hospitality services to each resort and members on behalf of their Board.
